Notice of Board MeetingWednesday, February 1st
|
GOCO Grant AwardedGreater Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) has awarded CCCPRD a grant of $133,844.00 to improve the turf field at the Coal Creek Canyon K-8 School thanks to the work of Meghan Morrissey, Chris Gosnell, and Linda Martin. The Board is pleased to be able to move forward with improvements in the community. |
The mill levy issue was not approved. How will the District's operations be affected?
If you have thoughts on direction of your Coal Creek Canyon Park and Recreation District, please attend a Board meeting or email the District.
The Board will need to account for the following issues in determining the District's course:
- The Master Plan represents needs expressed by residents, but it is not financially feasible without the mill levy.
- The District cannot collect its share of revenues that residents pay as part of their vehicle registrations.
- The District’s ability to pursue grants and other funding will be severely restricted. Grant organizations usually require a cash match from the applicant. Without a mill levy, the District will be unable to provide the necessary cash match portion for grants, so the District will not likely be able to win grants such as GOCO (lottery funds) and Jeffco Joint Venture (sales tax based). Since revenues for operations would also be very limited, a practical means to create and sustain a Community Park and Park Center facility is lacking.
